Application Development Manager - EMEA

The Application Development Manager EMEA is responsible for the lab management, project planning and chromatographic application development in the EMEA region. The goal of the role is to increase technical expertise and visibility in the market, and to ensure that customer satisfaction goals are met. The position manages the application development and technical benchmarking of process, laboratory and instrument business. In this role you work closely with the product management and sales teams, supporting the product positioning and identifying application areas to define winning campaigns. (S)He provides input to product management and gives regular feedback to R&D to identify new product opportunities and improve existing ones.

The Application Development Manager EMEA is expected to:

  • Provide technical expertise, advice and support to customers before, during and after the sales process
  • Act as a product expert for all chromatographic products and instruments
  • Maintain lab equipment and may advice new investments according to the company strategy and needs of the market (without any decision authority –resides in Technical director).
  • Lead, coach, grow and inspire his/her team and create a safe and empowering work environment
  • The theoretical and practical supervision of the students
  • Work closely with the Product Management team
  • Support the Sales team
  • Do oral and poster presentations at scientific conferences
  • Phone, E-Mail and on-site support of customers for columns & bulk products
  • RMA ISO-net update and editing of Tech Group Reports
  • Contribute to customer and distributor trainings
  • Provide application support for key accounts and lab equipment maintenance
  • Perform regular literature database searches for TSKgel & Toyopearl applications
  • Participate to tradeshow and workshops participation
  • Ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, the Quality Management System, the Company Policies and the Corporate Procedures


  • Master in Science, Life Science, Technology or Engineering
  • Ideally a first experience in people management
  • Knowledge of techniques of bioanalytics (electrophoresis, Elisa)
  • Excellent in building networks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Position is based in the Griesheim office
