The chart above shows the molecular weight ranges of each pore size Toyopearl HW Size Exclusion resin.


The SEC resins are the base beads for our surface modified  Ion Exchange, Hydrophobic Interaction and Affinity chromatography products. These use the following naming convention:

"Toyopearl" + "ligand" + "-SEC resin number" + "0".

So "Toyopearl" + "Butyl" + "-65(from HW-65)" + "0" = "Toyopearl Butyl-650"

The availability of multiple pore sizes enables Tosoh Bioscience to put the same ligand on different pore size base beads (some not offered as SEC resins) for different customer applications.

For example:

• Toyopearl Butyl-650 (HW-65 base bead) - for larger proteins
• Toyopearl Butyl-600 (HW-60 base bead) - for IgG size targets
• Toyopearl SuperButyl-550 (HW-55 base bead) - for smaller proteins

Each product is designed for a different molecular weight range and customer feedstock profile.
